Kids Cooking Camp | November 24 & 25 | Fall Holiday

$150.00

Fall Holiday Cooking Camp for Kids, 7-12yrs!

In this seasonal camp, kids will explore the traditional process of making masa from corn, which we’ll turn into handmade tortillas and end our last class day with a taco party. We will prepare beans and squash to complement the festive meal. On the first day, we’ll begin the process of making masa, and on the second day, we’ll bring everything together to share a delicious meal as a group. Parents and families of the camper are invited to eat with us during the last half hour on the last day (3:30-4pm)!

Parents: When purchasing, please leave any information about allergies, sensitivities, &/or dietary restrictions for your child(ren) in our “Notes” area upon check-out.

What to bring: Please dress your child so they’re comfortable both indoors and outdoors, as the camp may take place in our outdoor space as well as the classroom, dependent on weather. A hat is recommended and it’s best to dress in layers. Children must wear closed-toe shoes and have long hair tied back. Please send your child with a refillable water bottle and a small snack (please no foods with peanuts and candy).

OPTIONAL | Crafty Lunch Hour: Click here to read more & add the lunch break.

Description

Kids Cooking Camp | Fall Holiday
Monday & Tuesday, November 24 & 25, from 1 – 4pm

This camp is held both outdoors as well as indoors, so we suggest:
• Dress your child in layers so they can adjust to the temperature.
• Bring a refillable water bottle and a snack (no candy or peanut products please). Single-use plastic is discouraged.
• Wear c
losed-toe shoes — dropping tools on toes really hurts! Flip-flops are not acceptable for this camp.
• Please apply sunscreen to your child before dropping off and/or send them with a sun hat.

DIRECTIONS: Located in Liberty Station’s Arts District, you can find our studio at the end of the hallway on the 1st floor of the Dorothea Laub Music & Arts Center (Bldg 176) at the corner of Roosevelt & Truxtun, next to The Lot movie theater. There is plenty of free parking. Parking Lot Q is behind our studio — enter via the driveway off Dewey. Across the street in the Vons parking lot, it is also free. If you can’t find us, call or text 619.273.3235.

CLASS SIZE: 4 min. If the minimum is not met, you will receive a full refund or credit toward another class.

REFUNDS: No refunds for tardiness or no-shows. For a refund (minus a 5% processing fee), you must cancel 14 days before the start of this camp. After 14 days, we cannot offer refunds, as materials and supplies have already been purchased.

TRANSFERS: You may transfer your enrollment spot to someone else, but transfers must happen before the workshop begins. Please email us to let us know who’s coming.

LATE REGISTRATION: Space-permitting, if the camp has already started and you’d like to add your child, we allow add-ins to week-long camps as long as the instructor approves and we have enough material supply. We usually prep a couple of extras! Call the office at 619.273.3235 or email us to us to inquire and make arrangements.

INTEREST LIST: If a class is full or you would like to be notified of future offerings, join our Interest List to be notified when new dates or spaces are available.
