Welcome to San Diego Craft Collective’s Garden Club for Torrey Pines Elementary! It’s a weekly club where kids engage in a garden setting at their school and learn about plot planning, companion planting, gardening maintenance, harvesting, seed saving, composting, and activities that progress the garden with each season. Garden Club gives kids an opportunity to become good stewards of the garden as they see firsthand the impact of their efforts. Gardening is proven to have a positive, grounding impact on mood and brain chemistry for all ages, but especially for children. Working in the garden helps kids grow & expand in so many ways! Kids use their five senses to learn about their environment; get excited about food and making healthy, nutritious choices; and feel connected to a larger picture and purpose in life. When we grow our own food, we are all more connected to it, and kids are especially more apt to eat things they’ve grown themselves in the garden! We’ll be in the garden. CLASS SIZE: 8 min. If the minimum is not met, you will receive a full refund. Max size is 10 children. REFUNDS: No refunds or makeups for tardiness or missed days. In order to cover costs and pay our garden instructor fairly, we cannot offer refunds or make-up dates for garden club.
